🎣 Tiger Muskie Surprise — When Bass Fishing Takes a Wild Turn!

Tiger Muskie Surprise at Newton Reservoir — Mepps Spinner Catch!

Some days on the water don’t go as planned — and that’s what makes them unforgettable. While bass fishing at Newton Reservoir (Utah), I threw a Mepps spinner expecting a bass… and instead hooked into a powerful Tiger Muskie! This surprise catch turned into a true core fishing memory.

What Happened

I was fishing light for bass when a hard hit turned into one of the strongest fights I’ve had on similar gear. Tiger Muskies are aggressive, powerful, and uncommon on bass tackle — which made every second of that fight feel epic. The GoPro captured the action from start to finish.

πŸͺ± Gear & Setup

  • Lure: Mepps Spinner
  • Rod & Reel: Medium spinning combo (light/medium action)
  • Line: 6 Lb Mono
  • Camera: GoPro chest/head cam
  • Location: Newton Reservoir, Utah
