Rainbow Trout Fishing at Wellsville Dam, Utah
Wellsville Dam is one of Utah’s best community fisheries — a beautiful, easy-to-access spot that’s stocked heavily with Rainbow Trout throughout the season. It’s a great place for families and anglers of all skill levels to enjoy a relaxing day of fishing.
Occasionally, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources adds Broodstock Rainbow Trout over 18 inches long, offering a chance at some truly trophy-sized fish! I usually practice catch and release on the bigger trout so local kids and new anglers have a shot at catching their own “big one.”
As a community fishery, the daily limit is two fish per person, and the state strongly encourages releasing any Largemouth Bass to help maintain the population.
